  • Kif26a -/- mice showed growth retardation, became emaciated, and died within 5 weeks of birth. Kif26a -/- mice exhibited megacolon and enteric nerve hyperplasia due to Gdnf hyperresponsiveness, resulting in disturbed bowel movement regulation and dilation of the gastrointestinal tract.
